Hotel La Tonnara is very concerned with the protection of urban areas and has therefore developed very respectful policies for both internal and external environmental care; beside economic objectives, the whole tourist resort is devoted to environment protection and its related aspects.

We all know very well that the development of society should be sustainable and eco-friendly; therefore Hotel la Tonnara is constantly seeking balance between environmental and economic responsibilities. We all have a strong commitment towards environmental rules and regulations into force, thus verifying our legislative compliance regularly in close cooperation with institutions, associations, consultants and environmental experts.

Safety, health and environment are among our top priorities. Every year, the hotel management defines more ambitious objectives in terms of environmental sustainability; these objectives are shared and discussed with the hotel staff. Once our goals are reached, a restriction can be envisaged. The definition of objectives is the result of an initial environmental assessment.

The internal environmental policies of Hotel La Tonnara will have to:

• be approved by the hotel management, comply with the company global strategy
• be appropriate to the nature, dimensions and environmental impact of the hotel activities
• comply with norms and regulations into force, aim at improving environmental performances
• fight pollution and consider the vision, the values and the ideals of the company in the field of environmental protection
• be available to the public, be shared with the hotel staff and employees

Hotel La Tonnara will take all necessary measures to minimize the impact of internal activities on the surrounding environment and will prevent dangerous conditions for the health of employees and customers; the hotel also intends to constantly adjust its production processes, organizational activities and eco-friendly technological equipment to the most secure, modern and efficient technologies in order to minimize environmental risks for human health.

In addition, training activities will be organized and extended to the hotel staff to improve their individual productivity and encourage all possible eco-friendly initiatives.

The Hotel also commits to informing customers about the initiatives to take in order to encourage recycling and selective waste collection. The respect for environment involves the hotel providers at different stakes and influences many operational aspects of the hotel activities. In this regard, environmental policies are constantly reviewed to comply with environmental auditing, possibly amended and then communicated to the hotel staff.
